Santa arrives early at new homes in Newcastle
Santa has come early to a new housing development in Newcastle where he has left behind a sack of toys for local children’s charity Children North East.
Santa was seen checking out the soon-to-open show homes at Miller Homes’ Greenvale Park development, just off Stamfordham Road, so he can see where children will be living this time next year.
As well as having a sneak preview of the new code level three eco three-bedroom show homes Santa also handed over £100 worth of gifts to project workers from Newcastle charity Children North East that will be donated to underprivileged children and teenagers from across the city.
Miller Homes regional sales and marketing director Steve McElroy said: “We are very excited about the launch of our new show homes in January and wanted to cause a buzz around them in the run up to the New Year.
“It is also very important to us to make relationships with the communities in which will be will part of, and so that is why our Miller Homes Father Christmas has dropped off a bag of goodies for local children not so fortunate at this time of year.”
Children North East project worker Sam Lane said: “We are very grateful to Miller Homes for donating the toys. These will be given to those who benefit from the range of services offered by Children North East including disadvantaged young people who use our WEYES project in the west end of Newcastle.”
Greenvale Park offers a wide variety of housing and the marketing suite is now open for visitors. The three-bedroom semi detached Tolkien and Hawthorne show homes are due to open by the end of January 2011.
Prices start from £112,500 for a two bedroom apartment and £124,950 for two and three bedroom homes.
All house types on the development are Miller Homes North East’s first code level three homes to be built in the region, taking strides to further meet the standards outlined in the Governments Code for Sustainable Homes to be Zero-carbon (code level 6) by 2016.
