Inchcape Toyota opens in Derby

Inchcape plc, the leading independent, international automotive distributor and retailer opened its prestigious new Toyota showroom on Pride Park in Derby on 1 March. The event was marked with a customer evening at which senior executives from Toyota, including Shimpei Kobayashi, Chairman, Toyota GB and Hein Van Gerwen, Managing Director, Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK Limited, along with senior executives from Inchcape Plc, were present.

This new centre is another milestone in the focus to make Inchcape the most customer centric automotive retailer in the world. It offers a state-of-the-art workshop, dedicated vehicle handover areas and a comfortable waiting area with tea, coffee and daily newspapers available to while-you-wait service customers.

Guests were able to view whole site as well as the all-new Auris, Toyota’s latest model that is built at Burnaston. A special Auris test drive desk took over 20bookings on the night for demonstrations at either the showroom or customers’ homes or offices. Other attractions included an artist, who was kept busy throughout the evening sketching portraits of guests, a close-up magician and live music.

Hein Van Gerwen, Managing Director of Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK Limited, in officially declaring the new centre open, underlined the close links between Toyota MMUK at Burnaston and Inchcape Toyota in Derby to guests.
