The Gough family enjoyed a stress-free move up the property ladder to a bigger, better, brand new home in Swadlincote thanks to part-exchange from Redrow.

Parents Tracey and Richard wanted a quick and easy move for their family as their son Chandler has autism and doesn’t cope very well with change. With the offer of part-exchange from Redrow they didn’t have to worry about becoming entangled in a complicated chain, as the award-winning housebuilder effectively acted as cash buyer for their old home.

Tracey explained: “We had outgrown our old three-bedroom semi and wanted somewhere bigger to raise our two children. We were toying between either buying a period property or a brand new one and went to look at the Redrow homes at Priory Fields. Having a child with special needs we decided to opt for a new build so that we have more time to dedicate to him rather than on the repairs and maintenance that an older property would require.”

At Priory Fields the family discovered that with Redrow’s New Heritage Collection of traditional looking homes they could enjoy the charm and character of a ‘period’ property, but with a stylish, practical interior designed to meet the demands of modern family living.

“We fell in love with the ‘Stratford’ as soon as we walked through the door. The bay windows at the front mean that there’s lots of natural light and the open plan kitchen-diner is ideal for us as a family,” Tracey commented.

“Our daughter Jordana is 14 and had the box room in the old house, but now has a double bed which she thinks is the best thing ever. We used to have to fight for the bathroom so having an en-suite to the master bedroom is a bonus and so convenient.”

The extra bedroom is being used as a play room for Chandler, 12.

A four-bedroom ‘Stratford’, similar to the Gough family’s home, could be yours from £194,995. Customers with a property to sell may be able to use it as part-payment for a brand new one.

“Part-exchange was fantastic and meant that just six weeks after we viewed the house we were able to move in,” Tracey said.

“We would definitely recommend Redrow because the whole team were fantastic. We were in regular contact with the sales office leading up to the move and built up a trusting relationship with the site manager who arranged for people to come in and do jobs around the house for us so that we didn’t have to take time off work.”
