Couple find perfect countryside home at Shobdon Oaks

For many, finding a spacious luxury home in a stunning setting for an affordable price may seem like a dream, but for one Herefordshire couple that dream came true at Taylor Wimpey Midland’s Shobdon Oaks development in Shobdon.

Craig and Liz Costford had been hunting for the perfect countryside retreat and were in the process of buying what they thought was their dream home when they faced every buyer’s nightmare – the sale fell through. Luckily for them it did otherwise they’d never have stumbled across Shobdon Oaks.

Craig said: “We wanted a bigger house in a more rural setting and had been looking for a while. We were understandably upset as we had to start the whole house search again from scratch but now we’re so glad we did!

“We saw an advert for Shobdon Oaks on the internet and thought it was worth visiting. When we arrived we were taken aback as it isn’t like most new-build developments we’d seen before, there’s only a handful of homes being built and the setting is very secluded; it’s absolutely perfect for us.”

They chose a three bedroom detached Kirkstone and are now happily settled in and enjoying their new home with their two cocker spaniels Cubby and Broccoli.

“The new house is amazing” adds Liz. “There’s so much space and we’re taking full advantage of its fantastic location; we’re surrounded by countryside and having the village on the doorstep is particularly handy. The dogs get very excited when its time for walkies as there’s so many places to take them. We can go out of the front door and start to enjoy the scenery straight away!”
