Canalside homes now available in stoke

1st February 2011 Print
Homes next to the Caldon Canal are now available at Redrow’s Water’s Edge development in Stoke.

As the name suggests, Redrow’s Water’s Edge development is set beside the canal in the Hanley area of Stoke. Current availability includes a selection of properties with views over the waterway – a branch of the Trent & Mersey Canal – offering residents the opportunity to escape from the hustle and bustle of modern living.

And to help potential purchasers picture themselves living at Water’s Edge, Redrow is opening the doors to a two-bedroom apartment and a four-bedroom ‘Trent’ view home.

Elaine Mounsey, sales manager for Redrow Homes (NW), commented: “Close to the centre of Hanley, Water’s Edge is ideally placed for those who work in Stoke and the surrounding area. The canalside location means that residents can enjoy a sense of tranquillity as they relax and take in the views or enjoy a leisurely stroll along the towpath.

“And with a choice of apartments and family homes available it’s well suited to a range of buyers, including those starting out or starting over and growing families in search of extra space.”

The Caldon Canal is 18 miles long and runs from Froghall, in Staffordshire, to the Trent and Mersey at Etruria. It was built to carry minerals from the uplands of the Peak District to the Potteries. In recent years, the canal has been restored for pleasure craft, a magnificent section being through the Churnet Valley. Reminders of the Industrial Revolution along its banks include the remains of lime kilns, ironstone workings and ironworks, plus Flint Mill at Cheddleton, now restored as a museum of industrial archaeology.

Prices at Water’s Edge start from as little as £72,995 for a one-bedroom apartment. Redrow is offering to make them even more affordable with its ‘easi:buy’ scheme, which enables purchasers to defer paying up to 15% of the cost of a brand new home. It means customers could find themselves catapulted onto the property ladder for an initial outlay of just £63,746.

The outstanding balance can be repaid at any time over the next 10 years when the purchaser has more funds available or when they come to resell.

Those looking for a larger property are sure to be impressed by the three and four-bedroom homes at Water’s Edge, on the market from £139,995.

“All of our homes are full of family friendly features including convivial open plan layouts. Fashionable kitchens enjoy the convenience of integrated top brand name appliances plus floor to ceiling units and extra wide drawers offering plenty of storage; while bathrooms and en-suites benefit from quality fixtures and fittings,” Elaine explained

“And with the offer of part-exchange you may be able to trade up to a bigger, better, brand new home without even having to worry about finding a buyer for your existing property.”

Redrow has produced easy to follow video guides to ‘easi:buy’ and part-exchange to help customers understand the help available. They can be viewed via Redrow’s award-winning online television channel Redrow.tv.
