Brothers Ian and Andy Roberts have always been close – and now they’re neighbours too.

The siblings decided to keep it in the family by moving into the same apartment block at Taylor Wimpey’s prestigious Thorntree Vale development.

They were the first residents to move into the luxury Chaucer and Auden apartments and say they’re loving being on each other’s doorsteps – especially when Andy has Ian’s dinner ready for him!

As he explains: “Our friends joked about us being neighbours – saying we’d be having our tea together every night and they’re not far wrong.

“If I nip to our mum’s she’ll send me back with dinner for Ian and I’ll drop it up to him – I think he’s enjoying the service!“

The brothers first took a shine to the two-bedroom, luxury homes at the exclusive Thornaby development, in Stockton-on-Tees, when they were still in build.

Impressed with the range of spacious two, three and four-bedroom properties and great deals available, they each signed up to reserve their chosen home on the same day last year.

Ian, 45, a machinist, bought his apartment complete with an upgraded kitchen and appliances and top-of-the-range lighting options, on the ground floor, while Andy, 44, also a machinist chose a different, two-bedroom, top-floor option.

As Ian explains: “I was thinking about buying a house originally but when I saw the flat I felt it was absolutely perfect – exactly what I wanted.

”Having Andy upstairs is a bonus!

“The quality of the fixtures and fittings was great and the location was spot-on – I’m 10 minutes from work, my local and the rest of our family. What more could you want!”

The brothers moved in on the same day a few months ago – with Andy even giving Ian a lift to the development.

After enjoying their first Christmas in their new homes, they’re now looking forward to meeting the rest of their new neighbours.

Bev Russell, Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire sales manager for Thorntree Vale, said: “We’re really happy that Ian and Andy have found their ideal homes and we hope they enjoy them for many years to come.”

As well as two bedroom contemporary apartments, priced from £84,950, Thorntree Vale offers a collection of two bedroom houses from £99,950, three bedroom homes from £119,950 and four bedroom homes from £149,950 that are ideal for growing families, commuters or friends sharing.

Located close to the A19, Thornaby is within easy commuting distance of both Stockton and Middlesbrough and the A66.
