Abbey International introduces new 2 year fixed account

7th February 2011 Print

Complementing its current Moneyfacts listed Best Buy 3 year and 5 year Fixed Rate Deposit Contracts, Jersey based offshore banking specialists Abbey International has added a new 2 Year Fixed Deposit Contract to their portfolio, with a minimum deposit balance of £100,000.

Paying a single rate of 3.55% gross/AER guaranteed for the full two year term, the new account fills a need for those looking to lock into higher interest rates.

The new account offers two interest payment options, either annually or upon maturity, with clients required to open or maintain an Abbey International sterling Call account during the term of the deposit for the receipt of interest payments. The Call Account requires no notice for making withdrawals and offers unlimited access to your money, so clients can enjoy easy access to the interest received.

Commenting on the new account launch, Head of Marketing and Communications, Jane Matthews said, “We are now able to offer clients a comprehensive range of deposit options, with guaranteed fixed rates available over 9, 12 and 18 months and now 2, 3 and 5 years. The new two year Fixed Deposit Contract pays an attractive 3.55% gross/ AER which compares well with our existing 3 year Moneyfacts Best Buy** fixed term account paying 3.75% gross/AER.”

Abbey International is part of the highly regarded Santander Group, which has more than 150 years experience in banking and has clients all over the world. Santander has an AA credit rating from Fitch and Aa2 rating from Moody’s credit rating agencies.
