South London property-seekers are moving quickly to snap up apartments at Taylor Wimpey’s Scholars Court development of property for sale in Anerley.

Taylor Wimpey’s Scholars Court development has enjoyed a storming start to the year, with customers flocking to buy sought-after new apartments in Anerley.

Five of these beautiful Anerley flats sold off-plan in January to buyers attracted by the combination of brand new, maintenance-free homes – and the exceptional value for money they offer for such a well-connected part of South London.

Mark Pajak, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “We have been delighted by the sales success at Scholars Court, where eager buyers have been quick to snap up the beautiful flats for sale in Anerley. Sales in the first month of the year indicate that these Anerley apartments are not only wonderful places to live, but are also priced realistically to sell.

“The impact of the East London Line extension means Anerley is becoming a real hot-spot for those in search of South London apartments, and we expect that to continue as this London-wide railway project nears completion.”

Historically, Anerley has always been an excellent choice for clued-up commuters, thanks to excellent links to the heart of the capital. Services from Anerley railway station, within walking distance of Scholars Court, take just 25 minutes to reach London Bridge, and to Canada Water to connect with the Jubilee line.

In the past year, the extension of the East London Line overground service means that trains now leave Anerley every 15 minutes to West Croydon to the south, and Dalston Junction in North London, via The City. From May this year, passengers will be able to travel to Highbury and Islington directly, and from autumn 2012, to the busy Clapham Junction rail hub.

This has added appeal for those choosing one and two-bedroom apartments at Scholars Court now, where prices start at just £152,495.

Each new apartment boasts a spacious lounge/dining room and open-plan fitted kitchen complete with built-in oven, hob and hood, plus one or two bedrooms, a bathroom and a handy storage closet off the internal entrance hallway.

Two-bedroom apartment designs feature en-suite master bedrooms, and many one and two-bedroom plots benefit from attractive private balconies to the living areas.

While the proximity of the railway station makes travelling by public transport a great way to get around, most new homes at the development also include secured underground allocated parking.

A range of time and money-saving incentives is available on selected apartments at Scholars Court, including help with deposits for first-time buyers and assistance with finding a purchaser for those with a property to sell. Incentives can be tailored to customers’ individual circumstances and are subject to availability, with further information available from the Sales Executive.

Located in a quiet, leafy residential area of Anerley in the London Borough of Bromley, Scholar’s Court provides the perfect urban hideaway for professionals looking to escape the hustle and bustle of central London while still enjoying a rich variety of amenities close at hand.

Access is easy to the A212, A214 and A215, and for those travelling further afield, Heathrow and Gatwick airports are each just over 20 miles away.

A choice of shops, bars, leisure facilities and a vibrant local street market are within easy reach of the development, while Beckenham, just over a mile away, boasts plentiful quality restaurants and night spots.

Meanwhile, The Glades shopping centre in Bromley and The Whitgift Centre in Croydon are both less than four miles from home.

By reserving an apartment now, purchasers at Scholars Court can make the most of a host of benefits, including an agreed price for their new home that remains fixed right through until completion – even if the price of similar properties at the development increases in the meantime.

Off-plan purchasers can also choose from a wide selection of extras from Taylor Wimpey’s Options range, which includes carpets, flooring, tiles, kitchen and bathroom upgrades, lighting and accessories – all of which will be expertly fitted to ensure their home is completed to their personal specifications before they are handed the keys.

Those interested in finding out more can visit Scholars Court Sales Centre, located off Versailles Road, Anerley, and open Thursday to Monday from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
