Help for Braintree's first time buyers
The average age of first-time buyers has climbed to 37 according to a recent study by the Council of Mortgage Lenders, with prospective purchasers needing a deposit of over £37,000 to get their foot on the first rung*.
In order to help first-time buyers secure a home, City & Country Group is hosting a special weekend on the 19th and 20th February 2011 at Old Saint Michaels, their stunning conversion of a Victorian hospital in Braintree, Essex. This event is specifically tailored to help address the issues that can prevent first-time buyers taking their initial steps on to the property ladder.
Restoration experts, City & Country Group, will be holding the weekend, which is open to all, between 10am and 5pm in the sales suite, where guests will be given the opportunity to view the spectacular show homes, which each boast seamlessly fused distinctive historic architecture, with contemporary interior design. Visitors can also take full advantage of access to independent financial advisors who will be able to give free impartial advice.
In addition, City & Country Group is offering first-time buyers their own bespoke incentive package for those wishing to purchase a property at Old Saint Michaels this weekend. Designed to alleviate some of the financial burden that makes securing a first home particularly challenging; the ‘Getting Started Package’ can include legal fees paid, mortgage valuation paid, allowance for purchasing new furniture, or a combination of all three. Furthermore, as an exclusive offer to those who reserve a home at the development during the weekend, City & Country Group will refund the £1,000 reservation fee upon completion.
Helen Moore, Managing Director at City & Country Residential, comments: “At Old Saint Michaels we have placed particular emphasis on providing interesting and unusual homes for first time buyers that are affordable and will retain their value. A high level of interest has come from first-time buyers to date, who are particularly attracted to the location, the attractive, fully maintained landscaped gardens and the truly unique nature of each home at Old Saint Michaels. Many buyers can’t believe the remarkable period features on offer, for such an affordable price. With the market being particularly tough on first-time buyers at the moment, we want to do everything we can to help them achieve their dream and get their foot on the ladder. We urge anyone struggling at the moment, to attend this weekend and take advantage of the Getting Started Package.”
