Visitors to the Heritage Motor Centre this weekend (Friday 25 - Sunday 27 February) will get a rare opportunity to see one of the world’s latest and most stunning concept cars – the Jaguar C-X75. Launched in Paris in September 2010, with rave reviews in the press, the C X75 is currently making an international tour of motor shows and events but will make a special appearance at the Heritage Motor Centre for three days only.

The C X75 concept is both a celebration of 75 years of iconic Jaguar design and a look into the future of automotive technology. Designed as a range-extended electric two-seater supercar, it explores the outer limits of both performance and sustainability. The car is powered by four electric motors – one at each wheel – together with two micro gas turbine power plants, which act as both a generator and the source of an additional 188bhp. With plug-in capability the car can achieve a zero tailpipe emissions range of 68 miles (110km) when running under battery power alone, plus a potential top speed of 205mph (330km/h) and blistering acceleration. Using its hybrid capabilities, the car has a total range of 560 miles (900km).

Inspiration from the past was found in the innovative engineering and functional design elements of cars like the C-Type and D-Type racers and unique XJ13 Le Mans prototype and the new car has eye-catching styling to match. The C X75 demonstrates that it is possible to retain Jaguar’s core values of performance, design and luxury using technology that will make environmentally responsible performance and electric vehicles a practical proposition for the future.

Museum entry fees are: Adults £11, Children £8 (5-16 years) under 5’s are free, Concessions are £9 and a Family ticket is £34.
