The great-value homes at Taylor Wimpey’s The Boulevard development of houses for sale in Coventry provided the perfect fit for Andy Croney and Natalie Harrison.

When Warwickshire property-hunters Andy Croney and girlfriend Natalie Harrison decided they wanted to own a home together, they soon realised properties in their then home town of Warwick were somewhat out of their price range.

But rather than continuing to spend money on rent, the first-time buyer couple decided the way to afford their own place would be to move a few miles away and find a property in Coventry.

They visited Taylor Wimpey’s The Boulevard development of new homes in Coventry and found the ‘Woburn’ house, which with two good-sized bedrooms and a garden – and within their budget – ticked all the boxes.

What’s more, despite changing towns, their new Coventry property is still very accessible for Andy (32) in his work as a sales rep within the area of the M40 corridor, and Natalie (23) is a beauty therapist based near Kenilworth.

Andy explains: “Moving from Warwick to one of Taylor Wimpey’s new houses in Coventry was the right decision for us, because property is less expensive and we found a house that we really like.

“Owning a place is much better than renting. In our old home, if we wanted to put up a picture we had to ask permission. Now we can do what we want to do to the house, from putting up pictures and mirrors, to doing the garden just how we’d like.”

The couple purchased their home off-plan and so were also able to customise the interior finishes to suit their tastes, selecting tiling, lights, door handles and appliances from Taylor Wimpey’s Options range.

When their new house was completed, they were handed the key to a brand new first home and say they enjoyed a ‘very straightforward’ moving day, with good customer care from Taylor Wimpey’s on-site staff.

Andy adds: “We would definitely recommend buying a Taylor Wimpey home to other people we know. The staff helped out throughout the buying and moving process, and always returned our phone calls promptly, finding out the information we needed as soon as possible so we knew what was going on. The whole experience went very well.”

For those keen to become a first-time buyer in Coventry, a superb range of starter homes is currently available at The Boulevard with Easy Start shared equity, including stylish two-bedroom terraced homes from just £97,125* and spacious three-bedroom houses from just £110,246*.

Under the Easy Start scheme, qualifying first-time buyers can own a new home now for as little as 75% of the full purchase price.

All purchasers need is a deposit of as little as 5%, subject to status, while Taylor Wimpey covers the remaining with an interest-free 10-year loan repayable in up to three instalments at the market value of the property.

Meanwhile, those with a home to sell can alternatively move up to a spacious four-bedroom townhouse, priced from only £131,996, and through Taylor Wimpey’s Easymover scheme receive help finding a buyer for their existing property, and have their estate agent’s fees paid.

Full details and terms and conditions for the full choice of incentives are available from the Sales Executive at the development.

The Boulevard is the exciting second phase of Taylor Wimpey’s regeneration of the former Peugeot plant in Humber Road, Stoke, part of the £200 million, 1,400-home Dominion Plaza scheme in the emerging New Stoke Village.

The development comprises 142 stunning homes, and has been carefully designed to foster a sense of community, with discreet parking, attractive crescents and tree-lined avenues creating a pleasant environment for all.

Homes at The Boulevard benefit from a range of everyday amenities on the doorstep, and Coventry city centre is within easy reach for a host of shopping, leisure, sports and entertainment opportunities.

The development also benefits from excellent transport links, with Junction 2 of the M6 less than five miles away and Coventry railway station, which operates regular services to London Euston in around an hour and to Birmingham in under 30 minutes, only two miles from home.

Property-seekers can visit the Sales Centre at The Boulevard, located off Humber Road, Stoke, Coventry, and open seven days a week from 10am to 5pm.
