The Howes family were so impressed with Canalside Wharf, Taylor Wimpey’s idyllic development of property for sale in Weston, Staffordshire, they bought three homes there!

When Richard Howes swapped city living in Wolverhampton for a luxury lifestyle at Taylor Wimpey’s Canalside Wharf development of apartments and houses for sale in Weston, rural Staffordshire, little did he know he was setting a family trend!

After swapping the Black Country for the sought-after new community in the picturesque Staffordshire village in 2009, Richard’s sister Rachael followed suit a few months later with her own new Taylor Wimpey property in Weston.

Now, the siblings are looking forward to welcoming their parents Margaret and Derek to Canalside Wharf, after the retired couple also decided to leave Wolverhampton for a quieter life in the country, choosing from the selection of stylish flats for sale in Weston at the development.

“It’s simply a wonderful place to call home, which offers an unrivalled quality of life,” says 32-year-old teacher Richard, who is enjoying life at the new development of Staffordshire property. “Our parents have, like my sister and I, just found the development impossible to resist.”

Richard stumbled upon Canalside Wharf after searching websites for property in Staffordshire, and was so taken by the location and great-value prices, that he decided to visit the development in person.

“When I arrived I was amazed by the surroundings,” he says.

“You can’t get a better location, as far as I am concerned. From my windows I overlook the canal and have expansive views across open countryside.

“Within a few moments I can be out mountain biking, walking in the fresh air or be paddling my kayak up and down the canal. In fact, if you were in my living room, you would be able to see me paddle past!”

The established village of Weston has impressed Richard, who has comfortably settled into the slower pace of life it offers.

He says: “There’s none of the hustle and bustle that was becoming a bit too much in Wolverhampton. In Weston, everybody’s really friendly, you feel safe and the two local pubs are very nice indeed.”

Richard’s also delighted with his Taylor Wimpey home, a three-bedroom link-detached ‘Cresswell’ house.

“It’s incredibly spacious, has an amazing open plan kitchen/dining room, a wonderful lounge with bay window, a good-sized manageable garden, and of course, the views of the canal and the countryside are spectacular.

“With the quality of the homes here, and the surroundings, there’s nowhere better to live, and Rachael and our parents agree.”

A selection of one-bedroom apartments is available to buy at Canalside Wharf, with prices starting from as little as £99,950, plus three-bedroom houses from just £240,000 and four-bedroom homes from only £276,995.

Staffordshire home hunters can follow in the Howes family’s footsteps and enjoy the wonderful waterside lifestyle at Canalside Wharf by visiting the Sales Centre and showhomes, located off Saltworks Lane, Weston, and open from 11am to 5pm, Thursday to Monday.
