House hunters in Earl Shilton should act fast if they want to call a popular Redrow development ‘home’.

Purchasers have been keen to snap up properties at Rossendale Gardens, where more than half of the homes have been sold in less than a year.

Pauline Turnbull, sales director for Redrow Homes (Midlands), commented: “At Redrow we take pride in building quality homes that people really want to live in and this is reflected in the sales success we have seen at Rossendale Gardens. In February alone we sold six properties, proving that despite the doom and gloom in the media about the economic climate there’s still a demand for new homes in this part of Leicestershire.”

Featuring designs from the critically acclaimed New Heritage Collection, homes at Rossendale Gardens look traditional from the outside; while inside they are bright, modern and full of family friendly features.

“Visitors to Rossendale Gardens have been pleasantly surprised at what’s included as standard in our New Heritage Collection homes as we offer a specification that’s unrivalled among most of our house building peers, let alone the second hand sector,” Pauline explained.

“Kitchens are fitted with top brand name integrated appliances, including ovens, microwaves and fridge-freezers, plus under unit lighting; while the floor to ceiling cabinets and extra wide drawers offer plenty of storage. The Redrow standard specification also includes fitted wardrobes, built-in book shelves and outside lights. And in the bathrooms you’ll discover quality fixtures and fittings, with an exclusive tile range.”

Current availability at Rossendale Gardens includes a choice of two and three-bedroom homes, with prices from £119,995 to £164,995. And with Redrow’s ‘easi:buy’ scheme enabling customers to defer paying up to 15% of the price of selected properties, homeownership is even more affordable.

For example, customers with a deposit of £6,000 will only need to apply for a mortgage of £95,996 to purchase a two-bedroom ‘Dale’ style home on the market at £119,995.

The outstanding balance can be repaid at any time over the 10 years when the purchaser has more funds available or when they come to resell. The ‘easi:buy’ payment is subject to terms and conditions. Interest free for 10 years, the deferred element is paid back at market value at the time of payment.

Redrow has calculated that it could cost up to £30,000 to bring an older three-bedroom property up to the same high standard as one of its new homes.

The ease of maintenance was a factor for first time buyer Nikki Eggington, who with partner Joseph Higgs was the first person to move into Rossendale Gardens.

“When we started looking for a home of own we discovered that new-build properties were more affordable than those on the second hand market as top brand name appliances are included in the kitchens and the modern bathroom features quality fixtures and fittings. Buying a brand new home means we don’t have to worry about finding extra cash for repairs, renovations or maintenance,” Nikki explained.

Close to Earl Shilton town centre, Rossendale Gardens enjoys easy access to Leicester, Hinckley and Nuneaton.
