For an Easter cottage getaway ‘north of the border’ at a reduced rate, check out the properties – including a 19th century property in the Scottish Borders and a Victorian villa with lochside views in Argyll -  from cottage agency, Ecosse Unique.

In the Scottish Borders, there’s savings of £50 on 'Tweed Cottage' (sleeping four), situated in the small village of St Boswells and ideally situated to take in the area’s wide open spaces and sensational scenery.  A week’s stay in this property – beautifully converted without losing its traditional appeal – now costs £335.

Set in an enormous garden – bordered by a trout stream – is ‘Rhugrabh Cottage’ (sleeping four), a stone-built home full of character in the village of Strachur in Argyll.  The property – which enjoys stunning views across Loch Fyne to the hills of the Mull of Kintyre – now costs £495, saving £55.  Prices for both cottages apply to seven night stays from 16 or 23 April. unique-cottages.co.uk

12th century Syningthwaite Priory sits at the heart of a working farm near Wetherby in North Yorkshire: an idyllic location with a cluster of newly-converted (awaiting official Visit England rating) holiday cottages set around a beautiful courtyard garden.

Here, Yorkshire Cottages is featuring Fitz Simon Lodge at Priory Cottages: a deluxe two-storey property with open-plan living area, travertine tiled floors, comfy seating, flat-screen TV and a contemporary kitchen.  Upstairs are two double bedrooms and a luxurious bathroom.

A week’s Easter rental starts at £430 (arrivals 9 or 23 April) rising to £490 for the week of 16 April.  York and Harrogate are equidistant, as are the National Parks, while Priory Cottages, and its working farm, are surrounded by rolling countryside. yorkshire-cottages.info

‘Nine-nights-for-the-price-of-seven’ is the great offer this Easter at The Nook - a family cottage situated close to the centre of Mullion Village in Cornwall – courtesy of Cornish Cottages.

This fantastic deal means nine nights’ rental starting 21 April costs just £356 inclusive of bedlinen, towels, cot and highchair.  Sleeping four, the property has an enclosed gated lawned garden and is within easy reach of Mullion Cove – with its fishing harbour – and the sandy beaches of Polurrian and Poldhu Coves.

Or there’s a 5% discount on a week’s rental of Greenshank – a single storey property sleeping four situated on top of Mullion cliff with miles of bracing cliff top walks in both directions.  The revised cost of seven nights’ rental starting 16 and 22 April is now £331 (saving £17). cornishcottagesonline.com

Finally, in West Wales, Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire is highlighting reduced prices at a selection of properties – both large and small – for seven-night Easter holidays starting on 9, 16 and 23 April.

These include ‘Sunnyridge’, a large house sleeping 10 set in an acre of beautiful gardens – complete with putting green and trout stream - and enjoying a prime position above Amroth beach.  Here a week’s stay from the above dates now costs £854, saving £205.

On the edge of the small rural village of Croesgoch is ‘Swallows Rest’, a superb barn conversion, located less than a 10-minute drive from St Davids, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and the sea.  A seven-night Easter holiday in the property, which boasts a woodburning stove and Aga, now costs £483, a reduction of £52.  coastalcottages.co.uk
