One lucky home owner exchanged birthday cake for the keys to her very own first home, when she became the proud owner of a brand new apartment on her 26th birthday!

Hannah Jeoffrey from Leeds, fell in love with her apartment at Miller Homes h2010 development from the moment she saw the views over the River Aire from her own balcony.

“The view from my balcony is wonderful and as soon as I saw it and the wonderfully spacious apartment, I knew this was the home for me,” said Hannah. “My Dad had originally seen the advertisement and told me about the development and the purchase initiatives available. I am so glad that we decided to come and take a look.”

Hannah, who works for British Gas just half a mile away from her new home, purchased her apartment through HomeBuy Direct, a government initiative whereby buyers, who qualify under the scheme, purchase 100% of their home by paying up to 70 per cent of the value, with both Miller Homes and the Government funding the remaining 30 per cent. One of the biggest benefits of the scheme is that the equity loan only becomes repayable after 25 years or when the customer sells their homes, whichever occurs the soonest, and there is no interest payable for the first five years.

“Buying can often be cheaper than renting and it is pleasing to see that buyers are exploring the options open to them,” commented Jan Hanaby area sales manager Miller Homes. “We are looking forward to helping many more people join Hannah at h2010 and become part of an emerging community.”

“HomeBuy Direct really does help first time buyers get a foot on the property ladder,” commented Hannah. “Without it I would have struggled to move from my family home, but I am now proof that dreams can come true. I have my fantastic apartment, with a view that I love, and I feel very proud of what I have achieved. I would certainly urge any other first time buyers that are wanting to own their own property to take a look at h2010, the homes and the team are fantastic!”

h2010 also embraces ‘The Code for Sustainable Homes’ – a government owned assessment method for new dwellings which, by setting standards for their performance and sustainability aims to reduce the impact of new housing on the environment. Homes on the current phase at h2010 include a minimum 25% improvement on CO2 emissions for the dwellings (over previous Building Regulation Standards) and a reduction in the consumption of potable water by the use of low flow sanitary fittings.

Furthermore, homes have increased insulation, low energy heating systems and the utilisation of responsibly sourced building products.

Properties currently available at h2010 range from two bedroom apartments priced from £105,000 to four bedroom, three storey townhouses priced at £165,000.

h2010 is located on Yarn Street, Hunslet, Leeds, LS10 1NY. The sales centre is open each day from 10.30am – 5.30pm and the team can be contacted on 0800 840 8505.
