Entering the property market for the first time is no mean feat but the dream of securing a new home that is both perfect and affordable is now a reality for Kirsty Hall (27) and partner, Mike Orlando (34).

“We were renting but our landlord decided to sell the house we were living in – so we had to find somewhere new,” said Kirsty. “A lettings agency recommended that we rent a new Barratt home at the Fieldways development in Paulton so we moved here.”

The pair rented at Fieldways and loved the sought-after site so much they began to search for a place of their own.

“We were aware of schemes offered by Barratt to help get people on to the property ladder – and we kept in touch with the sales team here until a new home became available. When they told us we could afford a beautiful new Maidstone home, we leapt at the chance,’’ said Kirsty.

The three bedroom Maidstone house is an eye-catching design – offering space for families, it is perfect for first time buyers too. It features a well-proportioned lounge and a kitchen fitted with modern units and a breakfasting area for informal dining.

Upstairs, the master bedroom features an ensuite facility and the family bathroom is tastefully decorated and colour-coordinated. The further two bedrooms are a good size – offering space for guests or growing families.

“While renting here, we watched Barratt build these special houses – and we so desperately wanted to own one,” said Kirsty. “Now, thanks to Barratt we do. We are so happy. The service we have had from Barratt – both before and after the sale – has been fantastic too.”

Barratt is offering its popular 85/15 scheme at Fieldways. This shared equity scheme is designed to help buyers take their first step in to the property market.

Buyers can buy a home at the exciting new development for just 85 per cent of the asking price, including the five per cent deposit. The remaining 15 per cent is funded through a deferred Barratt loan. And buyers don’t have to pay this until the home is sold again or in ten years, whichever is sooner.

Fieldways is located in the heart of the village and offers buyers the chance to own a home in a picturesque location without breaking the bank.

“This is a very popular area for those seeking new homes,” said Barratt sales director, Andrea Pilgrim. “It is perfectly located for buyers searching for a more rural position that is just a short distance away from nearby towns and cities including Bath and Bristol.

“I am delighted for Kirsty and Mike – and I wish them many years of happiness in their new home.”

Fieldways is located in Paulton, Somerset. It is well served by well known supermarkets and other local amenities – including schools, churches, pubs and restaurants.

For details of current availability visit the sales office at Church Street, Paulton, open from 11am to 6pm daily.
