On Thursday 14th April 2010, at The Grand Hall, Battersea Arts Centre, SW11 The London Office* will be co–hosting The Move To The Country Show with leading London agent Douglas & Gordon.

Supported by Country Life, it is an opportunity for Londoners to meet 33 handpicked country agents and relocation agents, and discuss their plans to move out of the capital. A broad spectrum of properties from Castles to Martello Tower from Country Estates to Cottages, for sale and to rent will be available. (Please see Appendix for some examples of properties that will be exhibited or launched at the Show unless sold or let prior)

Bob Bickersteth, Director of The London Office comments: “Following the success of last year’s exhibition, we will be hosting The Move to the Country Show, which is for those who are inquisitive about moving to the country, investing in property outside the capital or simply looking for a different lifestyle. We have noticed a greater emphasis on buyers revaluating their priorities: they are taking advantage of the price differential between London and the country in order to afford a better quality of life for their families. In the latest My Home Life Survey produced by The Digital Property Group 51.9% of respondents said they planned to move to the country in the next 6 months - Lifestyle was the most popular reason (35.9%). Partners from the country offices will be available to answer questions about local schools, sporting facilities, rental income, commuting times, pubs, etc. The event is now in its fifth year and, from the initial response, we expect a high attendance.”

George Franks, Area Director of Douglas & Gordon comments: "This is the perfect opportunity to explore the country without leaving central London. Even with the internet looking for the right country property, whilst living in London, can be an arduous process; The Move to the Country Show saves prospective buyers precious time and legwork. It is a unique opportunity to speak to independent experienced experts with in depth knowledge of their locality. With the high costs, both emotional as well as financial, of moving home this knowledge is invaluable to ensure the right property is purchased. Equally, members of Douglas & Gordon’s staff will be there to provide help and advice on London properties."
