Discover the benefits of buying in Grimsby

When 24-year-old Zoe Blythin decided it was time for her to stand on her own two feet – a brand new two-bedroom home seemed like an unreachable dream.

However, with the help of a shared equity scheme offered by Linden Homes North (formerly Stamford Homes before the recent re-branding) – Zoe is now settled into a brand new home at the popular Freshney Green development in Grimsby.

Zoe – a line co-ordinator at Kerry Foods in Grimsby - said: “I was living with my parents and thought it was about time I found a place of my own. My mum and dad and my grandparents have been hugely supportive throughout the process. Buying a home is something I’ve never done before, so they were able to guide me and work with myself and Linden Homes through the whole thing.”

After looking into the possibility of renting accommodation (which would have cost £400 a month), Zoe opted for the shared equity scheme – which allowed her to get a foot onto the housing ladder through a more affordable option.

Zoe, who shares her new home with Boxer puppy, Roxy, said: “Without the scheme I would have never been able to move to a home I love so much. I have a garden for Roxy and I am the happiest I have been for a long time.”

Shared ownership, which is currently available at Freshney Green, offers:

- Low Deposit
- Affordability - only need to be able to afford the mortgage for the amount you are buying
- Fixed monthly rental
- Ability to buy a greater share over a 25 year period
- Unlike shared equity schemes, it does not need to be repaid within 10 years.

For more information, visit the Freshney Green development which is open daily from 10.30am until 5pm.
