Driving for excellence with Chichester College

Driving for excellence with Chichester College Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has begun working with Chichester College to help it in its quest for excellence in education. This builds on the company’s existing partnership with the college following the launch of the Rolls-Royce apprenticeship programme last year.

The senior management team at Chichester College is being coached through a process of self assessment against the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence Model. The model has been used successfully at Rolls-Royce since the company started in 2003. The college’s self assessment will provide a comprehensive review of its activities and results and identify planned improvements. The programme is an integral part of the college’s ‘Good to Great’ strategy for becoming a world-class college.

John Bugeja, Business Excellence Manager, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars said, “This is an exciting and unique opportunity to share learning and experience between private and public sector organisations. Excellence is about doing the right things well and the self-assessment process helps us determine what are the right things for an organisation and critically what doing them well means.”

Richard Parker, Principal, Chichester College said, “Our partnership with Rolls-Royce is hugely challenging and stimulating for us. Our ambition is to be a world class college and Rolls-Royce’s generous support is a great help in our drive to achieve this.”
