£100 switching offer on Santander current accounts is back

Santander is bringing back its offer to give UK consumers the opportunity to switch their main current account to Santander and pocket £100 in the process.  This offer - previously available online only - will be available in branch, by phone and online from 3 May for a limited time only, and is for customers who switch to Santander's Zero, Reward or Premium accounts, or its new market-leading, best buy Preferred Current Account.

The return of the £100 switching offer to Santander's branch and telephone channels in addition to online follows the recent launch of Santander's Preferred Current Account which pays 5 per cent in-credit interest on balances up to £2,500.

In 2010 alone more than 1 million people opened a current account with Santander, many of whom will have benefited from Santander's previous £100 switching offers.

Smooth switching

Santander also provides the benefit of a smooth, hassle-free switching service and a dedicated switching team so customers can make a simple move from their existing current account to Santander - and be rewarded for doing so.

Using Santander's switching service customers can

Have all their existing standing orders, bill payments and direct debits transferred from their old bank to the new Santander current account

Expect to match their existing overdraft (up to £5,000, depending on the customer's circumstances)

Receive a 0 per cent EAR arranged overdraft (depending on the customer's circumstances).
