Asda adds a taste of takeaway to its pizza range
Move over Margherita and Ham and Pineapple, following extensive research Asda has added five new delicious takeaway flavours to its Chosen By You chilled pizza range with influences from Spain, Mexico, India and America.
Asda’s pizza team travelled to New York, the convenience food capital of the world to gain inspiration for the range and experience first-hand the range of pizza takeaways on offer.
The Chosen By You range has been subject to quality benchmarking and independent customer taste testing to give Asda customers the very best in terms of quality and value.
Aside from the tasty takeaway flavours, four out of five of the new pizzas have their own drizzles enabling customers to finish off flavouring the pizzas themselves. Whether you’re looking for an Indian takeaway inspired pizza with a mango chutney drizzle, or a spicy Mexican fajita flavour with a rich tomato drizzle, there’s no excuse for staying in for a takeaway treat any night of the week!
Asda’s Big Smokey (RRP £2.50/520g) has a mouth-watering deep pan pizza base topped with barbecue sauce, mozzarella cheese, tender pieces of chargrilled chicken breast and sprinkled with generous pieces of red pepper, sweetcorn and smoked bacon. It comes with a delicious BBQ sauce drizzle to give it that extra bit of gusto to really tickle the taste buds!
For something a little lighter why not try Asda’s Spicy Chicken Fajita (RRP £2.50/520g) with a yogurt and sour cream drizzle. This tasty stone-baked pizza is topped with rich tomato salsa sauce, mozzarella and cheddar cheese and exotic fajita spiced chicken. Seasoned with mixed peppers, onions and jalapeno chillies, it will set your mouth alight!
If you want a heartier option, try Asda’s Americano (RRP £2.50/520g) which has a deep pan pizza base spread with tomato sauce, delicious minced beef, mozzarella, cheddar cheese and marinated onions. With a smoky bacon flavour, top up with a tomato ketchup drizzle for a truly traditional Americano taste!
For the more adventurous palette, Asda’s Indian inspired Chicken Tikka (RRP £2.50/520g) has a cheeky mango chutney drizzle for the perfect taste sensation. It’s a delicious stone-baked pizza topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, tikka-spiced chicken, seasoned green peppers and onions.
Finally, Asda has created a three chilli rating pizza with the fiery Three Chilli and Chorizo (RRP £2.50/520g). Made with a traditional stone-baked pizza base topped with tomato salsa sauce, mozzarella cheese, chorizo and green, red and Roquito chilli peppers, this pizza gives a real kick to the taste buds!

Asda is the second year winner of the Chilled Supermarket Pizza Retailer of the Year (PAPA) Awards.
The range contains no artificial colours, flavours or hydrogenated fats and is in-store nationwide now.
