Teacher puts Barratt in Consett top of the class

Teacher Jo Scott gave Barratt North East top marks when she used the housebuilder’s part exchange service to buy a new home with partner Mark Woodhall.
The couple enjoyed a hassle-free move into their new home at Fellview in Consett with Barratt taking Jo’s old house in the town in part exchange.
She said: “The service just made the buying and selling process a whole lot easier. It was quick and everything went very smoothly. Barratt actually sold my old house in a week.”
Jo, who teaches at Chopwell Primary School, and Mark, a football development officer for Northumberland FA, bought a 4-bedroom Ripon detached home, one of Barratt North East’s most popular designs.
“I moved from a three bed semi so there’s a lot more space,” she said.
“It’s much bigger downstairs, which is great for entertaining. That was a big plus point for us, as we like to have friends round. Everyone comments on how lovely it is.
“We also have a big garden and beautiful views across the valley.”
Jo added: “Heather the sales adviser was brilliant and sorted out any niggles, while the site manager Tony was fabulous.
“I cannot fault the team here, everyone is really friendly and helpful. I felt confident and happy to leave keys with them if there was any work to be done.
“I would definitely recommend Barratt – in fact one of my old neighbours is coming over to have a look round!”
Barratt has a selection of 2 and 3-bedroom homes at Fellview with special deals available for first-time buyers as well as part exchange. Prices start from £94,500.
The development is in an attractive setting with views over the Derwent Valley. There is a wide range of local amenities and it is within easy commuting distance of Durham and Tyneside.
Showhomes and the sales centre are open from 10.00am to 5.00pm, Thursday to Monday.
