Charles Church sponsorship is music to band’s ears

17th May 2011 Print

The Charles Church Camberley Band is rejoicing thanks to the generosity of Charles Church Southern in sponsoring the group once again in 2011.

Named after Mr and Mrs Church, the founders of Charles Church, the traditional brass band was established in 1960 and performs a number of community engagements across the south of England and has recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.

Based at St Peter’s Church in Frimley, the brass band is committed to entertaining the local community alongside encouraging new members and has a training band to support beginners or lapsed musicians to pick up an instrument and start playing. Visiting Charles Church Southern’s Earlswood Park development last week, the band played a thank you tribute to the company.

Andrew Hawkins, Chairman of Charles Church Camberley Band, comments: “We are delighted with the continuing support of Charles Church Southern in helping us with funding which allows us to carry out our work. One of the most rewarding aspects that our training band brings is an appreciation to those starting to learn, young and old, to understand the joy music can bring on many levels.

“We have a number of events planned for the year and the sponsorship is very much welcomed by all band members.”

Tracey Lee, sales and marketing director of Charles Church Southern, adds: “We pride ourselves on supporting the community in which we operate and that too includes forming partnerships with community groups which play a vital role in local life.

“The Charles Church Camberley Band is very much part of the history of Charles Church. Our support dates back to the very early days when a member of the band knew the original founders of the company. We are delighted to support and wish the band the very best of success for 2011.”

Charles Church Southern’s Earlswood Park development hosts a stunning mix of stylish two bedroom apartments and spacious two, three, four, five and six bedroom houses.
