Demand for new homes in East Riding is expected to be high as potential purchasers look forward to the launch of Redrow’s latest venture.

Holtby Gardens in Cottingham will offer more than 100 homes from Redrow’s critically acclaimed New Heritage Collection.

House hunters have been showing a keen interest in the properties, as Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire) explains: “So far more than 200 people have contacted us asking for information about the homes we are building in Cottingham and we’re continuing to receive a steady stream of enquiries about the development. It shows that there’s a demand for new homes in the area.”

Patsy added: “We’re preparing to open show homes at Holtby Gardens in the coming weeks and will be inviting all those who have expressed an interest to a special preview event.”

The homes at Holtby Gardens will look traditional on the outside, but inside will be bright and modern.

It’s not just the design of the properties that gives a nod to the past, the development has been named after local novelist and journalist Winifred Holtby, who died in 1936 aged 37.

The homes from Redrow’s New Heritage Collection are influenced by the architecture of the Arts & Crafts movement, which emerged in the late 19th century but was still prevalent in the 1920s and 30s when Winifred was living in the area.

“While the homes will look traditional from the outside, inside they will boast high specification interiors designed to meet the demands of 21st century family living. Kitchens will be both practical and stylish with the convenience of integrated top brand name appliances, plus tall units and extra wide drawers that offer plenty of storage; while bathrooms and en-suites will enjoy quality fixtures and fittings, with an exclusive tile range,” Patsy explained.

Situated in the East Riding of Yorkshire, midway between the city of Hull and the market town of Beverley, Cottingham is reputedly the largest village in England. It’s picturesque, yet has a bustling, vibrant community befitting of a modern village of this size.

Holtby Gardens is well placed with a train station nearby and the Kingswood Retail Park just a short journey away. Hull, Scarborough and York are easily accessible by road and rail, making the development an ideal base for commuters.
