Mirror, signal, aim and fire - car paintballing
Calling all thrill seekers, the latest adrenalin pumping leisure pursuit has arrived. The pastime, which involves slamming your foot down on the accelerator of an off road car whilst firing a paintballing gun from the bonnet, is certainly not for the faint hearted.
This original new sport was trialled by car-maker Chevrolet to mark the launch of their new all action 4 x 4 model: the Captiva.
The activity involves attaching a paintballing gun to the bonnet of the car which is then operated by a passenger who is able to fire paint filled bullets at various well positioned targets whilst the driver skids around the carefully designed course. The gun is operated by a remote control from inside the car where the passenger can position and aim the gun ready to shoot.
The bullets only measure just over a one centimetre before they are fired, but on impact can spread up to six inches of paint - travelling at over twenty miles an hour.
Zoe Lavender from Chevrolet UK comments: “The new Captiva is all about action and is perfect for anyone in search of a bit of an adventure – although despite our activities at the launch we would not endorse any daring driving manoeuvres outside the car paintballing arena! We hope our unique launch will appeal to active families who want to stand out from the crowd.”
