First-time buyer Dave Gordon purchased a place of his own at The Boulevard, Taylor Wimpey’s sought-after development of new homes in Coventry, thanks to the Gifted Deposit scheme.

Without Taylor Wimpey’s 5% Gifted Deposit scheme at The Boulevard development of property for sale in Coventry, first-time buyer Dave Gordon says he would never have been able to afford his own place.

The 26-year-old, who works in the payroll department at Warwickshire County Council, had been living in shared rented accommodation in Warwick but was keen to settle down on his own with his own Coventry property.

However, he faced the Catch 22 situation experienced by many young people – when he looked at rental prices locally, he realised it would be cheaper to pay a mortgage, but didn’t think he could save a big enough deposit for a first home.

Fortunately, thanks to Taylor Wimpey’s amazing 5% Gifted Deposit scheme and the great-value prices at The Boulevard development of flats and houses for sale in Coventry, Dave was able to purchase a stylish one-bedroom ‘Eydon’ apartment, moving into his new place in March.

Reflecting on the purchase of one of these stunning apartments for sale in Coventry, Dave explains: “Without the Gifted Deposit scheme I would have never have been able to buy my own place. I had been saving for a while but never thought I could put away enough for a deposit.

“I looked at renting a place on my own but prices were quite high on a monthly basis and it worked out that because I could get help with the deposit, it was cheaper to buy.”

The Boulevard is the exciting second phase of Taylor Wimpey’s regeneration of the former Peugeot plant in Humber Road, Stoke, part of the £200 million, 1,400-home Dominion Plaza scheme in the emerging New Stoke Village.

The development comprises 142 stunning homes, and has been carefully designed to foster a sense of community, with discreet parking, attractive crescents and tree-lined avenues creating a pleasant environment for all.

“Everyone at The Boulevard has been great, from the sales staff to the foreman on the site,” says Dave.

“Mine was one of the first homes to be ready, though there were a few people in before me. The development is coming up quite quickly now and it’s going to be really nice when it’s finished.”

Buying in Coventry worked out slightly cheaper than in Warwick, where Dave had been living, and the commute is a straightforward one each morning.

“It takes me hardly any time to get to work at all as Warwick is about 20 minutes away, and there are never any traffic jams because most of the traffic in the morning seems to be coming the other way, into Coventry,” he explained.

For those keen to become a first-time buyer in Coventry, a superb range of starter homes is currently available at The Boulevard including one-bedroom apartments from £90,995 and two-bedroom apartments from as little as £100,995. Stylish two-bedroom terraced homes are priced from just £129,500, while spacious three-bedroom houses start from just £149,995.

Homes at The Boulevard benefit from a range of everyday amenities on the doorstep, and Coventry city centre is within easy reach for a host of shopping, leisure, sports and entertainment opportunities.

The development also benefits from excellent transport links, with Junction 2 of the M6 less than five miles away and Coventry railway station, which operates regular services to London Euston in around an hour and to Birmingham in under 30 minutes, only two miles from home.

Property-seekers can visit the Sales Centre at The Boulevard, located off Humber Road, Stoke, Coventry, and open seven days a week from 10am to 5pm.
