The Mayor of Brent, Councillor Aslam Choudry recently met with Octavia Housing to officially open the Morello Apartments, located on Harrowdene Road, North Wembley.

Welcomed by Alistair Jones, Development Manager at Octavia Housing, the Mayor was given an overview of the development and a tour of the show apartment which gives an insight to the 17 homes available to first time buyers in Brent through shared ownership.

Under the shared ownership scheme, buyers will purchase 25 per cent of their apartment and pay a subsidised rent on the remaining share. That means that Morello Apartments start at just £46,250 – 25 per cent of a one-bedroom property’s £185,000 market value. Two-bedroom apartments cost £60,625 or 25 per cent of the market value of £242,500.

The Mayor of Brent, Councillor Aslam Choudry said: “Developing affordable homes for first time buyers in Brent alongside housing partners such as Octavia is very important for the borough. I was pleased to be asked to officially open the show units at the
development and I hope the new residents will be very happy and build a strong new community there.”

Alistair Jones comments: “We are very proud of Morello Apartments and grateful for the opportunity to show the Mayor how the development is progressing. Developed in partnership with Brent Council, the intention for the site is to provide those looking to make the first step onto the property ladder with a more affordable option.”

Morello Apartments offers 9 one and 8, two bedroom apartments, a stone’s throw from North Wembley tube station, providing purchasers with a fantastic opportunity to live in a peaceful location.

Set around a landscaped courtyard, each apartment has outside space in the form of a large garden to ground floor apartments, and balconies or a roof terrace to first and second floor apartments; some of which offer views of Wembley Stadium.

Wembley is fast becoming one of London’s most accessible locations thanks to fantastic rail and underground connections. The Bakerloo line from North Wembley offers services to Paddington, Oxford Circus and Waterloo in less than 40 minutes while from Wembley Park the West End is just 20 minutes away.

Watford Junction and London Euston are both easily accessible in just 26 minutes by rail from North Wembley. There are numerous bus routes that serve the area and for travelling by car, Junction 1 of the M1 is five miles away while Heathrow Airport is just 14 miles away.
