Oktoberfest in London

The original German beer festival, “Oktoberfest in London”, is back in 2011 for a fun-filled, stein-fuelled six weeks celebration of authentic food, spectacular Oompah live entertainment and of course, premium quality German beers.

Since its humble beginnings in 2004, the event has turned into the biggest German beer festival in the UK and has since entertained more than 100.000 guests.

This year “Oktoberfest in London” will carry on for six weeks, from 21 September until 29 October 2011 the Bavarian Beerhouse’s two venues will be transformed into havens of beer, live oompah music and partying, Bavarian-style. Live oompah bands will be playing Wednesday & Thursday 7pm – 11pm / Friday & Saturday 7pm – 1am. Tickets start at £14.50 per person and include a free Stein of German beer (the equivalent of two pints). A range of corporate packages is also available.

Dirndl clad waitresses will be serving massive port shanks and German beers in huge Stein glasses. Guests will be encouraged to eat, drink, sing and dance on the benches. The oompah bands will be flown in especially from Bavaria, including last year’s favourites Wuerzbuam.

Guests have a choice between two venues – the Bavarian Beerhouse Old Street and Bavarian Beerhouse Tower Hill, which opened in May 2010. Each venue can accommodate around 300 guests, and rooms can also be booked separately for smaller groups. Both venues provide ample opportunity for corporate entertainment.

The Bavarian Beerhouse’s Events Manager Hanna Essinger said: “Nobody needs to go to Munich to celebrate Oktoberfest – our guests can experience it right here in the UK! ‘Oktoberfest in London’ at the Bavarian Beerhouse means people are really letting their hair down and enjoying themselves.”
