Superb celebrations for Skoda centenary

8th October 2005 Print
Skoda is launching a Special Edition model Superb, the Edition 100. Built to celebrate 100 years of car production by the Czech-based brand, the Edition 100 Superb brings a new level of refinement to what is already one of the most luxurious cars Skoda has built in its history. Of just 500 units scheduled to be manufactured worldwide, 200 have been secured for sale in the UK.

Based on the Superb Elegance trim level, the Edition 100 boasts an exclusive combination of equipment including a grey leather upholstery interior found only on this model. The specification also includes Cubic 17" alloy wheels, sunset privacy glass, rear sunblind, solar sunroof, Edition 100 badging, and twin chrome exhaust, proving yet again that Skoda provides"extra bit of car" throughout the range.

For added convenience, the Superb Elegance standard equipment includes a colour satellite navigation system, acoustic rear parking sensors, multi-function steering wheel, bi-xenon headlights with headlight washers, auto-dimming rear view mirror, rain sensor and cruise control.

The Edition 100 is available in the 1.9 TDI PD 130bhp (manual and automatic) and in the 2.5 V6 TDI 160bhp (automatic). Prices for the Edition 100 will range from £20,900 OTR for the 1.9 TDI PD 130bhp to £23,205 OTR for the top of the range 2.5 V6 TDI 160bhp with tiptronic transmission.

The spaciousness and luxury of the Superb defines the model as an upper-medium segment car - and at a lower-medium price. Available in Skoda retailers across the UK now, the Edition 100 Superb joins the rest of the Skoda line-up, including the supermini Fabia, the new Octavia and Skoda’s sporty vRS models as Skoda ’s flagship model and definition of affordable luxury.
