Fabia vRS gets a good hiding… at last

8th February 2006 Print
There’s good news for rivals of the Fabia vRS – the mould-breaking turbodiesel hot-hatch is about to get its first hiding since it rewrote the rulebook in 2003. However, those trailing in the wake of the award-winning supermini shouldn’t think about cracking open the champagne just yet. The hiding in question comes in the form of sumptuous leather seats that are now available as an option on the Fabia vRS.

The new seats – which feature the same levels of support and comfort as the standard vRS seats – are covered in premium quality black leather and finished with green stitching and red piping at the sides. The seat facings are also trimmed on the upper half with the vRS logo, further enhancing the exclusive feel.

The new bespoke leather seat option costs just £1,300 and can be ordered immediately. The price includes full-leather trim on all four seats and headrests.

But the best news of all is that this exciting new offer isn’t just open to those ordering new cars. Existing owners can also upgrade to leather, regardless of the age of their car. Customers wishing to upgrade their seats to leather will pay the same price and the process involves nothing more taxing than a couple of visits to their local Skoda retailer where the conversion work will be carried out.

Combining practicality and excitement in one package, the Fabia vRS was the first car in its class to use a high-performance diesel engine to deliver its kicks.

Launched in 2003, the Fabia vRS has been a winner from the start. It has been awarded a whole heap of honours including "Diesel Car of the Year" by the Scottish Motoring Writers in 2003, "Best Performance Diesel" by Diesel Car in 2004, and has won a number of key group tests – often against more expensive opposition.

Providing the thrills of a hot hatchback in an attractive, practical and incredibly cost effective package, its acclaimed 1.9-litre TDI PD diesel engine produces an impressive 130bhp and 310Nm of torque.
