100 reasons to go for Skoda

Belfast’s number one taxi company Value Cabs has just taken delivery of 100 Skoda Superbs in a deal signed as the manufacturer’s centenary celebrations came to a close.

The vehicles were supplied by John Mulholland Motors, the leading supplier of Skodas for business sales throughout the province. The order means Value Cabs now boasts the biggest fleet of Skoda Superbs in Northern Ireland, and possibly the UK.

Chris McCausland, managing director of Value Cabs, comments: “Initially, we took delivery of 40 Superbs in order to gauge our customer’s reaction to the change. However, following feedback from our 500 drivers that our customers were thrilled by the new spacious taxis and in particular, the impressive legroom in the back, we took the plunge and placed the order for the full 100!”

Chris adds, “The deluxe Skoda Superb was the obvious choice; the build quality is renowned and – most importantly – they are extremely economical vehicles.”

Martin Burke, Head of Business Sales for Skoda UK, comments: “It is remarkably fitting that we should receive an order for 100 Superbs – our deluxe model – in our centenary year. The Superb’s spaciousness and luxury makes it a popular choice for fleets, particularly as it is an upper-medium segment car at a lower-medium price. Even in basic trim level the Superb offers Skoda’s legendary “extra bit of car”, including traction control, climatronic air conditioning, and CatVision (diffused interior illumination), all from just £13,900 on the road.

Skoda’s fleet sales saw a 23.9% increase in a market that is up by just 9.7%, equating to a total sales volume of 14,555 in 2005. Skoda now has a total fleet share of 1.27% after securing a number of high profile clients, including Ikea, Marie Curie, Mencap and Caterham Cars, over the last 12 months.
