Skoda comes out on top
Elland-based C3S Group PLC has appointed Skoda to supply its fleet of company cars following a review of its purchasing policy. The corporate safety and security systems business formerly operated a mixed-badge fleet with vehicles chosen by individual company car drivers.
William Robson, MD of C3S, drives an Octavia. He comments, "After overhauling our policy, we spoke with a number of manufacturers to try and discover a reliable vehicle with the best economic value. When comparing pence per mile costs, Skoda came out on top.
"Although some of our employees were hesitant about our decision, all now agree that the vehicles are far better than the fleet we were operating before. We have been extremely pleased with the vehicles so far."
To date, C3S has taken delivery of two Skoda Superbs and 11 Octavias all in the most luxurious trim level of Elegance. The vehicles will be used by a wide range of staff, from Sales Executives and Contracts Managers, right through to company Directors.
Martin Burke, Head of Business Sales for Skoda, comments, "C3S deals with security on a daily basis, so it is perhaps not surprising that they have chosen Skoda. Our vehicles are reliable and practical, yet always offer that legendary ‘extra bit of car’ which is what the company car drivers have experienced – and no doubt has played a large part in changing their preconceptions."
Skoda’s fleet sales saw a 23.9% increase in a market that is up by just 9.7%, equating to a total sales volume of 14,555 in 2005. Skoda now has a total fleet share of 1.27% after securing a number of high profile clients, including Ikea, Marie Curie, Mencap and Caterham Cars, over the last 12 months.
