Mercedes-Benz dealer Enza offers a tried and tested solution
Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealer Enza has unveiled the latest in a series of investments in its workshops, designed to offer even higher levels of service to truck and van operators.
Enza, which represents the three-pointed star in Manchester, Cheshire and Staffordshire, has opened an Authorised Test Facility (ATF) at its headquarters depot in Risley, Warrington.
Until recently VOSA, the government’s Vehicle and Operator Services Authority carried out all mandatory annual MoT tests of heavy trucks at its own centres. Now though, the private sector is being encouraged to open new, dedicated lanes where VOSA’s inspectors can undertake tests. And, like other dealers in the Mercedes-Benz UK network, Enza has been quick to seize the chance to offer operators a quick and convenient local service.
“We’ve always prepared vehicles for MoT testing,” explained Group After Sales Manager Russell Poole. “But the big advantage for our customers is that they can now have the tests themselves carried out in our workshop, without the need for a time-consuming and costly trip to a VOSA site.
“They can also get their vehicles MoTd while they are in for routine maintenance or repair. This means their trucks spend less time off the road and more time doing their job and earning their keep.”
Russ continued: “This development also offers us the opportunity to market our services to operators with who we haven’t previously done business, even those who run other makes of truck. And we’re confident that once they’ve seen the quality of our people, our products and our facilities, they’ll soon start putting other work our way too.”
Enza’s new ATF testing bay is currently available two days per week – Mondays and Tuesdays – but the dealer plans to extend opening hours as demand picks up. Enza’s Warrington site on Leacroft Road, and its dealership in East Manchester, on Briscoe Lane, Newton Heath, both also offer MoT testing of class 4, 5 and 7 vehicles – vans and cars.
Meanwhile, the workshop at Enza’s Stoke dealership, on Chemical Lane, has been refurbished and upgraded with the addition of new doors, lighting and a full-length inspection pit, as well as new secure fencing around the site perimeter. All three locations, and the company’s site at Trafford Park, have also added the supply and fitting of tyres to the list of services they offer.
“Our aim is to be a ‘one-stop shop’ for everything our customers required,” added Russell. “Whatever your truck or van needs, the answer is simple – bring it to Enza.”
