Jamelia enjoys Orlando holiday makeover

From theme park thrills to nature adventures, music star Jamelia embraced the popular destination by planning a trip that was far from the typical family tour.

Following the family holiday of a lifetime to Orlando, FL, pop star Jamelia has been left relaxed and raring to go for her upcoming album, due to be released at the end of this year.

Using the new Visit Orlando Holiday Planning tool, Jamelia was able to “makeover” her holiday by finding activities that kept both action kid, Teja, 10, and “girly-girl,” Tiani 5, happy with visits to Orlando’s world famous theme parks as well as a few unique outdoor adventures. They returned each day to rejuvenate at the luxurious Waldorf Astoria Orlando, where they managed to squeeze in some mother-daughter time at the Waldorf Astoria Spa by Guerlain.

“A highlight for Tiani had to be her princess makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Disney’s Magic Kingdom. Watching her be transformed into her princess idol was so sweet and magical for her.”

Her other daughter, Teja, had the chance to get up close with Orlando’s wild side, swimming with dolphins at Discovery Cove, searching for gators at Boggy Creek Airboat Rides and horse riding at the Horse World Riding Stables. “I couldn’t believe how much there was for our family to experience in addition to the theme parks,” Jamelia said. “The Visit Orlando planning tool helped open our eyes to a whole other side of Orlando we knew nothing about.”

Jamelia’s family learned that when the sun sets, Orlando continues to heat up with incredible dining and nightlife experiences. They also treated themselves to special meals and nighttime entertainment, taking in performances at Cirque du Soleil - La Nouba, Pirate’s Dinner Adventure and Arabian Nights and eating at themed restaurants such as T-REX Café and Café Tu Tu Tango.

As huge Harry Potter fans, the family was in their element at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort, and even had the chance to experience the sensation of flying at iFly Orlando, braving the vertical wind tunnel to experience the rush of free falling and body flight.

Feet firmly back on the ground, Jamelia is working on her upcoming BBC3 documentary; The History of Single Mum, but filled with fond memories of “the best holiday we’ve ever had”.
