Roomster Scout breaks cover

29th November 2006 Print
Skoda Roomster Following the international debut of the Octavia Scout at September’s Paris Motor Show, Skoda Auto is proud to announce the Roomster Scout - a brand new version of the compact MPV. It’s the second vehicle in the rugged Scout family and shares the Octavia’s robust looks and tough exterior.

It is identifiable from other models in the range thanks to some unique styling cues and larger exterior dimensions. The latest Roomster is 14 mm longer, 11 mm wider and 43 mm taller than standard siblings, affording the new model a more imposing air. It comes with exclusive 16 inch alloy wheels as standard - 17 inch wheels are available as an option. The robust black exterior trim, silver rear bumper guard and practical roof bars afford the car a muscular look characteristic of the Scout line. The SunSet privacy glass used from the B pillar back also adds an extra touch of style.

There will be a choice of two engines – a four-cylinder 1.6 16-valve petrol developing 105bhp and a four-cylinder 1.9 TDI PD also with 105bhp. Both of the engines come with a five-speed manual transmission.

The Roomster Scout will get its world premieres at the Essen and Bologna motor shows in early December. Launch is planned for the start of the second quarter of 2007.

Skoda, one of the world’s oldest car companies, has been making cars for over 100 years.
