Aston Martin’s new V12 Zagato endurance race car concept which completed the gruelling Nürburgring 24 hour race last weekend – just weeks after making its premiere at the Villa D’Este Concours last month – will make its British debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from 1 July.

Introduced as a modern interpretation of the famous Aston Martin and Zagato collaboration in the 50th anniversary year of the iconic DB4GT Zagato, the V12 Zagato revives a collaboration which has produced some of the most beautiful and sought-after cars in the world. The partnership takes inspiration from the past to create a modern adaptation based on Aston Martin’s ultimate performance interpretation of the Vantage range: the V12 Vantage. Making its first public appearance at the Villa D’Este Concours last month, the new V12 Zagato won the Concorso d’Eleganza Design Award for Concept Cars and Prototypes.

Aston Martin’s Head of Motorsport, David King, said: “In a very short lead time after Villa D’Este we approached the Nürburgring race with two concept cars and the aim of finishing the 24 hours as the ultimate test for the V12 Zagato and we are very satisfied to have achieved that.

“The sight and sound of the V12 Zagatos clearly thrilled the 200,000 plus spectators at the Nürburgring so we’re delighted that less than a week afterwards the car is able to appear at the Goodwood Festival and make its debut in front of our British supporters.”

The V12 Zagato will be joined by the 7.3 litre Aston Martin One-77 supercar and the new Virage at the festival, taking on the famous Goodwood hill route.

The One-77 fuses advanced technology with stunning Aston Martin design to create possibly the world’s most desirable automotive art form. Powered by a new Aston Martin 7.3 litre V12 engine, the One-77 is engineered to deliver breathtaking levels of power and performance. The dramatically styled two-door, two-seat sports coupe is based on an innovative new carbon fibre monocoque body structure and adopts new active aerodynamic technology to produce Aston Martin’s definitive sports car.

The new Virage combines outright sports car performance with luxury, comfort and refinement. A front mid-mounted V12 engine offers torque delivery that provides outstanding performance, coupled with the car’s inherent agility and perfect weight distribution delivering the ideal balance between outright sports car performance and trademark sporting luxury exemplified by modern Aston Martins.
