Skoda Octavia Scout wins at 4x4 of the Year Awards

Nearly 60 different models were judged by the expert team from 4x4 Magazine and the crossover estate segment was one of the most hotly contested. However, in the end the Octavia Scout – priced from £17,755 – won out against the likes of Jaguar’s X Type AWD and the Subaru Forester.
Richard Williamson, 4x4 of the Year judge, gave the Octavia 8.5 points out of 10 and said: “The Scout is well built, good to drive, ruggedly styled, practical and priced to please. It creates a new 4x4 estate benchmark.”
Head of Skoda UK, Chris Craft, was delighted, but not surprised, by the victory: “The Octavia Scout not only represents excellent value for money, but is also a very practical and capable off-roader. The Haldex clutch system can deal with all kinds of terrain, from gravel tracks to wet motorways.”
4x4 Magazine is Britain's biggest and best selling off-roading title. The 4x4 of the Year awards have run since 1988 and this year’s full results will be published in the mag’s October edition.
