The success story continues as sales continue growing
Skoda Auto has sold 462,429 vehicles world-wide in the first three quarters of 2007. The sales have grown by 12.6% compared to the same period in 2006 making it the best third-quarter result in the company’s entire history.September was a record-breaking month for the brand - 56,384 vehicles were delivered to customers making it the second best month since 1991.
The Skoda Octavia (hatch, estate and Scout) remains the best selling model in the Skoda range. At the end of this quarter the total sales amounted to 169,582 vehicles which is 12.3% growth compared with 2006 results.
The company sold 174,327 Fabias from the beginning of the year until the end of September with the New Fabia Hatch accounting for a third of the vehicles sold.
Roomster is still the key driver of Skoda Auto’s growth within the small MPV market - a total of 47,183 customers have bought this car since the beginning of the year.
The sales of Superb over the past nine months are equivalent to the sales results of last years Superb.
Skoda Auto’s most successful sales region is Western Europe with a total of 249,555 new Skoda vehicles sold to date this year. This is a 9% growth compared with the results for the same period in 2006. The Eastern Europe region has seen a substantial growth of 36.1% compared with 2006 – 67,550 vehicles have been sold so far this year.
Sales in Central Europe are comparable to the results achieved in the same period last year. To date Skoda has sold a total of 102,796 vehicles in Central Europe which include the sales in Skoda’s home market of the Czech Republic.
The launch of the Skoda Octavia in China is another success story. Exceeding Skoda’s expectations over 14,000 vehicles have been sold since June this year.
