Hob Hill's homeowners of the future
As part of Persimmon’s Homes’ commitment to supporting the communities in which it builds, the company was only too pleased to welcome a group of pupils from Hob Hill Primary School to its Armitage Road, Hawkesyard development, The Pippins, for a lesson with a difference.
26 pupils, aged five and six years, were all keen, as part of their studies, to find out about the area and were specifically tasked to ask questions and gather information about how it had changed over the years and in particular, how houses are built today.
Sales adviser Sharon Barlow thoughtfully chose to read the pupils The Three Little Pigs story to mark the start of the educational visit, which laid the foundations of understanding why modern homes are built out of brick.
Joined by site manager Craig Thomas, an informative history lesson took place as both Craig and Sharon told of how the village had developed since the late 1800s up until the present day which also included a tour of the showhome and well-deserved refreshments.
Sharon commented: “We were delighted when the school asked if they could visit and welcomed the little learners to the site, providing them with an engaging onsite lesson. Their expressions were wonderful as they listened intently to what Craig and I were saying, and they contributed to the discussion with great enthusiasm.
“But that’s not all. Before they came along to The Pippins, we had asked if they could design our next Health & Safety site poster. Posters in their hands, they presented these to us and we were thrilled at the effort they had made. After a hard decision, we were able to choose a winning design and thanks to Michael’s fantastic entry, children in the area will see the signs to stay safe and away from building sites, a very important lesson to learn.”
Persimmon’s The Pippins development is set in an ideal location on the doorstep to miles of rolling countryside. Located in Hawkesyard, on the outskirts of Rugeley, Staffordshire, it is situated in a much sought after location, thanks to the physical appeal of the area and the values properties in the village command. The development features a range of one, two and three bedroom homes, with prices starting from £109,995 and, with half of the properties in phase one already sold, Persimmon is urging homebuyers to pay their own visit for the chance to secure a home. What’s more, with a variety of home buying options available including Helping Hand, Persimmon’s shared equity scheme, and Part Exchange, it really is easy to own a brand new home at this desirable address.
Anita Williams, sales and marketing director at Persimmon Homes West Midlands adds: “It is so important for us to build links with local schools in the area, and it goes much further than just displaying prospectuses in our showhomes, which we are of course more than happy to do. As a development that is home to a host of families, the information is extremely valuable to provide to people.
“Sharon and Craig thoroughly enjoyed the visit by the pupils and, together with Kathy Weaver, full time sales adviser, they look forward to helping them with any further projects they may be working on in the future. Well done too to Michael in helping Persimmon Homes West Midlands creatively reinforce the important message of safety around construction sites with his great poster.”
Located off Armitage Road, The Pippins is ideally placed for commuters, with easy links to the M6. It offers quick access to other nearby towns, including Stafford and the cathedral City of Lichfield, and is in close proximity to the market town of Rugeley. Homebuyers can benefit from the stunning beauty of Cannock Chase, and all the modern amenities including a host of local shops, restaurants, pubs and schools on the development’s doorstep.
