Skoda sales growth in February
Last month Skoda Auto maintained a firm position in all the key market areas worldwide. In Western Europe sales grew by 2.4% to 24,957 vehicles and, in Eastern Europe, by 44.6% to 9,548 vehicles. Skoda Auto delivered 8.2% (4,780 units) more vehicles in the Czech Republic.Altogether Skoda Auto sold 52,916 vehicles in February - a 19.4% increase from February last year. The sales since the beginning of the year have already totalled 105,179 vehicles – a 17.8% increase compared to the same period in 2007.
Germany is the strongest market with 8,583 new registrations. Some of the key Eastern European markets include Russia with 3,055 vehicle sales - an increase of 62.6% compared to February 2007; Ukraine which has sold 2,616 vehicles - a 71% increase; and Romania which sold 2,030 vehicles – an 18.7% increase.
The Skoda Octavia has defended its title as the best selling model in the Skoda range with 27,012 vehicle sales. The Fabia has grown by 9.1% compared to last year with 18,701 vehicles and the Roomster by 25.8% to 5,829 vehicles. The Superb in its last year has sold 1,374 units in February.
