Skoda support results in apprentice success

Skoda support results in apprentice success Customers of Bristol’s Clist & Rattle Skoda retailer are in for even higher standards of care and maintenance, after apprentice John Butler officially qualified as a Skoda technician.

John, 20, from Long Ashton, has spent three years with the retailer gaining some valuable hands-on experience whilst also being funded through his NVQ qualification. John has now become a member of the technical staff and will be involved in servicing, electrical diagnosis, repairs and warranty work.

John comments: “I’ve been working at Clist & Rattle since I left school and have learnt many useful skills as well as being trained on all the latest equipment and vehicles. I’m glad my hard work has paid off and look forward to getting stuck in to my full-time role.”

Managing Director of Clist & Rattle, Paul Clist, adds: “The shortage of skilled technicians means this route is a long-term solution for us but it is well-worth the time and investment. We are committed to training young people and have participated in the Skoda apprentice programme almost from inception.

“We currently have another apprentice taking part in the scheme and we are confident this will lead to another high-quality technician who has had plenty of Skoda experience.”

With customer service at the heart of the company’s success since it opened in 1922, Clist & Rattle has developed a reputation of trust that motorists have come to expect from a family firm. Today most business in both its branches in Bristol and Portishead comes from returning customers.
