Winning Fabia lives up to acclaim with record sales success
The Scottish Motoring Writers’ Small Car of the Year 2007 is proving that it’s the one to beat in 2008 too. The Skoda Fabia is seeing record levels of sales – up to 50 orders a day – making it the small car which just keeps getting bigger. The hatchback which was re-launched last year has prompted never before seen take-up thanks to its smart styling and spacious interior. Its capturing looks have clearly captured the imagination of the Scottish people, who love its sporty body and distinctive grille.
Alastair Kerr, Operations Manager for Skoda in Scotland, comments: “These sales figures for 2008 so far represent a fantastic achievement for Skoda. It’s also great to see that a car which proved so popular with Scottish critics is just as popular with the public.
“The Fabia is a real all-rounder and with four petrol and three diesel engines to choose from as well as tonnes of leg and head room and a number of safety features as standard, it appeals to a wide range of age groups and lifestyles.”
But the Fabia is now bigger in more ways than one, with the recent launch of the new Fabia Estate, which combines the contemporary design of the hatchback with even more space.
Skoda has once again lived up to its reputation of offering that ‘extra bit of car’ by extending the Fabia Estate’s dimensions to ensure it’s roomier than ever, with an impressive 1,460 litre (seats folded) loading area.
“Hopefully the Estate will replicate the success of the hatchback in terms of orders,” Alastair continues, “It’s certainly the ideal choice for a growing family, especially those looking to keep costs to a minimum.”
