Snap up a new home in Hailsham for less

The new homes at Willow Gardens are available to purchase through the Government-backed HomeBuy scheme.

Cash strapped first time buyers don’t need to wait until the Government’s new FirstBuy initiative kicks in; they can snap up a new home now in Hailsham using an incentive that could save them even more money upfront.

HomeBuy Direct is still available on selected plots at Redrow’s Willow Gardens and allows them to take out an equity loan for up to 30% of the purchase price, unlike the 20% that will be offered by FirstBuy.

Beryl Williams, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Eastern), explained: “HomeBuy Direct is available now but would-be homeowners only have until December to take advantage. After that the offer will no longer be available and, as we won’t be offering FirstBuy at Willow Gardens either, it’s the last chance to buy a new home here for less.

“HomeBuy Direct could actually provide consumers with a better deal than the new initiative as it saves them more upfront. So those thinking about waiting for FirstBuy at other developments could actually be better off if they act now and buy a brand new home at Willow Gardens.”

Part of Redrow’s stunning New Heritage Collection, the homes at Willow Gardens combine the best of old and new. Traditional exteriors, inspired by the ‘character’ properties of the Arts and Crafts period, hide contemporary interiors designed for modern day life.

With the offer of an equity loan for up to 30% of the purchase price, jointly funded by Redrow and the Homes & Communities Agency, certain groups of purchasers can initially save almost a third off the price of one of these brand new homes. The loan is interest-free for the first five years and can be repaid when the customer has more funds available or they come to resell.

With HomeBuy Direct a three-bedroom ‘Broadway’ home, usually costing £209,950, can be snapped up for an initial outlay of less than £146,965 – that’s almost £63,000 below the asking price. The offer is also available on other selected three-bedroom homes.

“HomeBuy Direct isn’t just for young first time buyers, it’s also available to those starting over after a relationship break-up and possibly even families who can prove they need extra space,” Beryl added.

“It could be the difference between resigning yourself to a lifetime of renting or stepping onto the property ladder with a home of your own.

“Customers who take advantage of HomeBuy Direct should only need a relatively small deposit and to apply for a mortgage with a maximum loan-to-value of 70%. This will generally give them access to much improved mortgage interest rates.”

Whether you’re starting out or starting over, Redrow’s experienced sales team and HomeBuy agent will guide you through the application process and make everything as simple and straight-forward as possible.

To take advantage of HomeBuy Direct your annual household income must be less than £60,000.

Located on the A22, just eight miles from Eastbourne, about 25 miles from Royal Tunbridge Wells and a similar distance from Brighton, Willow Gardens is well placed as a base for commuters, but has plenty of amenities nearby in Hailsham itself.
