Luxurious Italian spa breaks for mums-to-be

15th July 2011 Print

Lefay Resort & Spa, overlooking Lake Garda in Italy, has launched a new range of treatments for new mothers and those soon to hear the patter of tiny feet.

The two packages are aimed at promoting relaxation and improving circulation during one of the most important times of a woman's life.

The Mother-to-Be wellness package aims to give more elasticity to the tissues and improve lymphatic circulation.  Included in the package is a massage using extra virgin olive oil produced from the olive groves surrounding the Lefay resort, which regenerates and nourishes the skin and prevents the appearance of stretch marks.  A Unico Cielo facial follows the massage, offering a deep cleansing for the face’s delicate skin.  Perfect for puffy hands and feet, the treatments are completed with the Lefay spa ritual for hands and feet which combine delicate exfoliation with moisturising sesame masks.

The Lefay Spa Scientific Committee have put together a series of pilates exercises to help reinforce muscles that are used less during pregnancy, such as s the back and abdominal muscles.   These exercises help women stay connected to their changing bodies, improve posture and help reduce pregnancy aches and pains.

The New Mothers programme has been designed to retone and help regain the body’s shape. Treatments include a Ricordo scrub which prepares the skin for a Lefay Spa aromatic mud pack and a haemolymphatic massage to reshape the body’s contours and improve the circulation. Also included is the Unico Cielo facial cleansing treatment to unblock the pores and eliminate impurities, which stimulates cell turnover to encourage smooth and radiant skin.

The programme can be complemented by a detoxifying reduced-calorie menu “Lightness of being”, which offers food that is low in calories but has all the natural flavours of great Mediterranean cuisine

The Mother-to-Be and the New Mother wellness programmes cost £272 (300 euros) per person (excluding accommodation).

A three night stay at Lefay Resort & Spa on a half board basis costs from £1,249 (1,380 euros) based on two sharing.
