Half of Brits would move if they won the lottery

As Britain's biggest Euromillions winners pledge to stay in their current home in Largs, new research from Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks  has revealed that 58% of those in the UK would move if they had won the lottery.

Colin and Chris Weir have vowed to stay in their three bedroom house in the Scottish seaside town of Largs despite having won £162 million last week.

The research from Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks showed that those in the Highlands of Scotland are the most likely to move following a lottery windfall with 76% planning to buy their dream home compared to only 49% of those in London.

Men are keener than women to move to a new home following a lottery win with 62% of men compared to 55% of women planning to move to a grander property.

Steve Reid, Retail Director for Clydesdale Bank, said: "Most people have a wish list of what they would do if they were lucky enough to win the lottery. For some people it is fast cars and exotic holidays whilst for others it is their dream home.

"A new home is high on the list for many people with 58% planning to move if they won the lottery but there are clearly also many people who are happy with their home, just like the Weirs."
