Barratt launches next phase at Renaissance, Lewisham

The vibrant, illuminated coloured glass exterior of the new leisure centre at Barratt London’s Renaissance development will create an exciting, ever-changing landmark building and is a highly visible illustration of the regeneration of Lewisham. Designed by LA Architects and Assael Architects in collaboration with artist Phil Coy, the art installation will be made up of many coloured glass squares that will alter shades, dimming and brightening throughout the day.
In addition to the convenience of the Lewisham DLR and National Rail stations adjacent to the development, residents at Renaissance will have this state-of-the-art leisure centre on their doorstep. With a sustainability rating of BREEAM excellent, the leisure centre will offer a 25 metre competition swimming pool, 20 metre teaching pool, indoor climbing wall, state-of-the-art fitness suite, crèche and health spa.
Following the successful sale of homes in Florence Corte, the first phase at Renaissance, Barratt London has launched a new phase of one and two-bedroom apartments at Renaissance called Venice Corte. Prospective buyers were invited to the marketing suite on Saturday 16th July to get a feel for the development and speak to the sales team about their buying options. Prices at Venice Corte start from £181,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and £236,000 for a two-bedroom apartment.
Sales of the new homes have been strong, with 20 apartments being reserved on the day of the launch. Gary Patrick, regional sales director for Barratt London, comments; “Purchasers are excited by the grand regeneration plans that are in store for Lewisham and recognise the potential for buying into the area. The borough is undergoing its biggest development since Victorian times and plans for the town centre include a new shopping centre, new leisure facilities, new shops, restaurants, bars, cafes, a town square and park, as well as new homes at Renaissance.”
Apartments at Venice Corte all have a balcony or terrace and residents will have use of a 24 hour concierge service, in addition to the cafes, business and retail units, piazzas and new public spaces.
Renaissance will provide 788 high quality homes set around private landscaped gardens. Located in Zone 2, the development is situated opposite the Lewisham DLR and rail station with excellent transport links into and around central London. Greenwich is 5 minutes and London Bridge 8 minutes away on the DLR while Canary Wharf (17 min) is also within easy reach.
Just a short walk from Renaissance, Lewisham high street is a hub of activity, with local produce markets and a wide choice of bars and restaurants. Outside Lewisham, the historic town of Greenwich is home to the vibrant Greenwich Market, the National Maritime Museum and Greenwich Park. Travelling into the cultural heart of London is equally as convenient, with the South Bank just a ten minute journey away, where London’s Tate Modern museum, the Shakespeare Globe, and the British Film Institute can all be found.
The 2012 Olympic Games have raised the Lewisham’s profile with the inclusion of five Olympic training sites in the surrounding area including boxing, gymnastics, tennis, athletics and judo, making Renaissance a popular choice amongst sports-lovers and Olympic fans. Plus nearby Greenwich will host the Olympic and Paralympic equestrian competitions and the combined running and shooting events of the modern pentathlon.
