Altogether three Skoda Fabias Super 2000 are going to appear at the Principe de Asturias Rally, the ninth event of this year's Intercontinental Rally Challenge series (IRC) that is to take place near Oviedo, Spain on 10-12 September.

Jan Kopecky and Petr Stary from Skoda Motorsport team, the crew that triumphed at the most remote IRC event in Zlín, are going to drive a factory Fabia, young French Julien Maurin and, in particular, Alberto Hevia, a Spaniard that won the Rally de Ferrol (part of the Spanish championship) in late August in his first-ever appearance with the Skoda Fabia Super 2000, will drive private Fabias.

Jan Kopecky's appearance at the upcoming event has been made possible by the Skoda importer in Spain that provides excellent support and is very much involved in the Skoda rally program sponsoring a national team with Alberto Hevia.

“We are really pleased that our Fabia Super 2000 project carries on involving Skoda importers, this time the Spanish one. This was actually one of our goals right at the beginning, because we believe that our presence in rally promotes Skoda worldwide and, thanks to extensive support from our importers, helps the brand in the respective markets“, said Head of Skoda Auto Corporate Communications Martin Lauer.
