Taylor Wimpey’s Reflections development of new homes for sale in Romford ensured a happy ending to pensioner Frank Tarrington’s property hunt.

When 82-year-old Frank Tarrington decided to downsize to a comfortable flat where he could relax and enjoy retirement, his experience of looking at new apartments for sale in Romford was initially a frustrating one.

The former engineer had a clear idea about the sort of property he was looking for having sold his old semi-detached property in Romford, but none of the apartments he viewed in his home town came up to scratch.

Frank’s frustration turned to joy, however, when his friend Jacqueline Strong recommended he take a look at Taylor Wimpey’s Reflections development of new flats for sale in Romford, located on Oldchurch Road.

One look at the stunning two-bedroom show apartment at this sought-after development of new homes in Romford, close to the town centre, and his mind was made up.

“I had viewed a few other flats in the area but I’d found them to be totally unacceptable,” Frank recalls. “My search for a new place wasn’t going too well at first, but all that changed when I visited the showhome at Reflections.

“To say I was astounded by the quality of the apartment would be an understatement! The design, the layout and the fixtures and fittings were all of the highest quality and I thought it was absolutely marvellous.

“As soon as I’d had a look around, I went straight back to the sales office and reserved my own apartment immediately. I haven’t seen anything like it before or since, and I’m very much looking forward to moving in – it’s going to be an absolute pleasure to live here.”

Frank, a father of one and a grandfather of two, made the decision to downsize from his larger previous property after his wife sadly passed away. He was keen to find a comfortable, well-designed home that required little or no maintenance within easy reach of central Romford.

“My new place at Reflections is absolutely ideal,” he says. “It’s on the third floor of the apartment block at the end of the corridor so it should be nice and peaceful.

“The design of my apartment has clearly been considered very carefully, and the open-plan layout is perfect for me because there’s no wasted space whatsoever. There’s a bathroom and an en-suite shower room, which is fantastic, and there’s going to be a lovely view over some green open space that Taylor Wimpey is creating as part of the development.

“The location is great, too – it’s nice and close to town and to the golf club where I play regularly with my grandson, and there’s a parking space outside my flat as well.”

The new apartments currently on sale at Reflections are ideal for downsizers like Frank, as well as for first-time buyers, property investors, commuters and young families in search of stylish and spacious new homes in a convenient location.

One-bedroom designs are priced from only £139,995 and two-bedroom properties are available from just £159,995. All new homes are completed to a high standard specification, including central heating, double glazing and fitted kitchen with integrated oven, hob and hood, while many plots include allocated parking outside.

Taylor Wimpey also offers a range of incentives to make choosing an apartment at Reflections even more straightforward and affordable, including help with deposits for first-time buyers and assistance with finding a purchaser for those with a property to sell.

Selected properties are available with Taylor Wimpey and the Homes and Communities Agency’s fantastic FirstBuy scheme, which lets qualifying first-time buyers purchase their new home now with only a 75% mortgage and a 5% deposit. The initiative is subject to availability and full details, including terms and conditions, are available from the Sales Executive.

The development enjoys a fabulous position close to the heart of Romford, with The Mall and The Liberty shopping centres on the doorstep. Meanwhile, The Brewery retail and leisure centre offers a multiplex cinema, health and fitness club, bowling alley, restaurants and bars, in addition to Kidspace, Europe’s largest indoor play area.

Just a short walk from the new apartments is Romford station, which puts London’s Liverpool Street Station approximately 17 minutes away by train – and a wealth of theatres, bars, shops and thousands of jobs within easy reach.
