BlackBerry Playbook overtakes iPad as must-have tablet

The BlackBerry Playbook has overtaken the iPad as the most sought after tablet on the net, according to the new money-saving super site ILoveCashback.com.

The site's statistics for July show the Playbook is now attracting 22% more searches than other tablets, including Apple's iPad 2 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

ILoveCashback, the UK's only site offering all three of the big online price saving options of price comparison, voucher codes and cashback, says 'tablet' is proving the number one tech search term, followed by '3D TV' and then 'Games Console'.

"The Playbook is definitely moving ahead of the iPad and we can also see that people are placing orders for it,' said Brad Blake, ILoveCashback's managing director.

"Tablet is the number one search term followed by 3D TVs such as Samsung 40" and then games consoles such as Xbox 360, although the Xbox 360 seems to be losing its share to its Sony rival, the Playstation.

"The Amazon Kindle is proving popular too with searches up by 21% on last month.
