Replan signals great news for Skelmersale’s first time buyers
Planners at West Lancashire County Council have granted permission for Lancaster-based Persimmon Homes Lancashire to redesign its Beacon Green development on Tanhouse Road and the housebuilder said this decision signals great news for local first time buyers.
The re-plan means that the development now incorporates a larger number of starter homes, many of which are currently available under the Government-funded FirstBuy scheme.
Diane England, sales director for Persimmon Homes Lancashire, said that the announcement of the replan should come as welcome news to young first time buyers in the area. She said: “As soon as we learnt that we’d been granted planning permission, we wasted no time in releasing a collection of starter homes for sale.
“There is a demand for this type of property in Skelmersdale and we are really pleased that we are able to offer the region’s would-be home owners a helping hand onto the property ladder.”
FirstBuy is offered through equity loan funding of up to 20 per cent of the purchase price split equally between the Homes and Communities Agency and Persimmon, with purchasers being required to raise funding (a mortgage plus deposit) of at least 80 per cent of the purchase price. This means that based on plot 43, purchasers would only need to secure a mortgage of £89,596 with a deposit of just £5,600.
Beacon Green comprises a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes, situated in a picturesque area of West Lancashire. A four bedroom detached “Chesterton” showhome is open to view at the development, enabling visitors to see first hand the style and quality that is synonymous with Persimmon Homes.
